Hypertension is a condition in which blood pressure in the blood vessels increases continuously. Hypertension is often referred to as The Silent Killer because sufferers usually do not know that they have hypertension and only find out that they have hypertension after complications occur. People who suffer from hypertension must have knowledge including the meaning of hypertension, the causes of hypertension and the importance of taking regular medication. This study aims to determine the level of public knowledge about the use of bananas in controlling blood pressure in Sengon Karang Bantul Hamlet in February 2025.
The type of research used is observational which is descriptive. The research sample was community respondents in Sengon Karang Bantul Hamlet. The instrument used in this study was a closed questionnaire. The results of the questionnaire were analyzed to see the level of respondent knowledge.

Hipertensi merupakan suatu peningkatan tekanan darah sistolik ≥140 mmHg dan tekanan darah diastolik ≥90 mmHg. Pisang ambon memiliki kandungan kalium yang tinggi sehingga baik untuk menjaga tekanan darah tetap stabil. Kalium memiliki efek diuretik yang dapat menurunkan tekanan darah dengan meningkatkan pengeluaran natrium dan air melalui urin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek diuretik pisang ambon pada tikus putih jantan galur wistar.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan desain penelitian post test only control group design. Sebanyak 27 ekor tikus putih jantan galur wistar dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif (CMC Na), kelompok kontrol positif (furosemide), dan kelompok perlakuan (pisang ambon). Pengujian efektivitas diuretik dilakukan dengan melihat volume urin dari ketiga kelompok tiap 1 jam selama 6 jam. Hasil volume urin dianalisis menggunakan Kruskal Wallis IBM SPSS Statistics versi 26 dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%.
Hasil rerata volume urin selama 6 jam pada kelompok I, II, dan III secara berturut-turut yaitu 4,308 ml; 37,987 ml; dan 22,059 ml. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah pisang ambon memiliki efektivitas sebagai diuretik pada tikus putih jantan galur wistar dengan pemberian pisang ambon seberat 17,599 g, namun efektivitas diuretik yang dihasilkan pisang ambon tidak sekuat furosemide yang merupakan loop diuretic.
Hypertension is an increase in systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mmHg. Ambon banana has a high potassium content so that is good for keeping blood pressure stable. Potassium has a diuretic effect that can lower blood pressure by increasing the excretion of sodium and water through urine. This study aims to determine the diuretic effect of ambon banana on male white rats wistar strain.
This study used an experimental method with a post test only control group design. A total of 27 male white rats wistar strain were divided into three groups: negative control group (CMC Na), positive control group (furosemide), and treatment group (ambon banana). Testing the effectiveness of diuretics was carried out by looking at the urine volume of the three groups every 1 hour for 6 hours. Urine volume results were analyzed using Kruskal Wallis IBM SPSS Statistics version 26 with 95% confidence level.
The average urine volume for 6 hours in groups I, II, and III were 4,308 ml; 37,987 ml; and 22,059 ml, respectively. The conclusion of this study is that ambon banana has effectiveness as a diuretic in male white rats wistar strain by giving 17,599 g of ambon banana, but the diuretic effectiveness of ambon banana is not as strong as furosemide which is a loop diuretic.
