Tingkat Pengetahuan Siswa tentang Bahaya Sinar UV dan Peran Sunscreen di Kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Banguntapan Bantul Bulan Februari 2025
Ultraviolet (UV) rays are included in the category of carcinogens that can cause various adverse effects, such as redness of the skin, burning sensation (sunburn), decreased skin elasticity, and the potential to trigger the development of skin cancer. Sunscreen or sunscreen is a product that can be used to protect the skin from UV radiation because these rays can damage the skin. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge of students at SMA Negeri 1 Banguntapan Bantul regarding the dangers of UV rays and the role of sunscreen. This study employed a descriptive observational method. The sampling technique employed purposive sampling. Data analysis utilized a validated questionnaire completed by the respondents. The sample size was 80 respondents, using Slovin's calculations. The data obtained were then scored based on the questionnaire results. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, it can be concluded that the level of student knowledge about the dangers of UV rays and the role of sunscreen in class XI SMA Negeri 1 Banguntapan Bantul in February 2025, respondents who had a good level of knowledge were 71 respondents (88.75%). These results indicate that the majority of students have a good understanding of the dangers of UV rays and the role of sunscreen.
