| Abstrak: | Banana peel extract can be developed as an active ingredient in solid soap preparation. The characteristics of solid soaps can be influenced by the selection of the type of oil used. This study aims to determine the characteristics of solid soap extract banana peel kepok using palm oil and virgin coconut oil and evaluate the differences in the characteristics of the two preparations. This type of research uses experimental methods Post Test Only Design. Banana peels are extracted by maceration using 70% ethanol. Banana peel extract is used as an active substance in the manufacture of solid soap preparations. Solid soap is made with 2 formulas, namely by using 30 gr palm oil (F1) and solid soap using 30 gr pure coconut oil (F2). The preparation in the characteristic test includes the test organoleptis, pH, foam stability and soap hardness. The texture of F1 is dense, yellowish in color, and the aroma of melon while F2 is soft dense texture, milky white, and melon aroma. pH test results F1 9.950.92 and F2 10.300.35. The hardness test results of solid soap F1 3.900.2 Kg and F2 2.730.58 Kg. F1 foam stability test results 78.363.41% and F2 92.103.93%. The conclusion of this study is that solid soap preparations made have good characteristics. Different types of oil used affect differences in organoleptical yield (texture and color), pH, soap hardness, and foam stability. |
