Abstrak
Self-medication is the act of self-treatment without a doctor’s prescription, which if done correctly can help reduce the burden on health services. A good level of knowledge about self-medication for diarrhea medication is very important to ensure correct use drugs and prevent unwanted side effects. This study aims to determine level knowledge of student from SMK Negeri Purwosari Gunungkidul about self-medication for diarrhea medication. This research uses a descriptive observational method with purposive sampling techniques, involving 85 students as respondents. Data collected through a questionnaire 17 statements, covering definition of diarrhea, medication use, dosage, side effects, and contraindications. The results research show that 46% of students had good knowledge, 45% sufficient, and 9% had insufficient. The majority of respondents were male (52%), with an age range of 15–18 years, and most are in the middle adolescent category. The result of this study indicate the level knowledge of students SMK Negeri 1 Purwosari Gunungkidul with good knowledge is 39 respondents (46%), those with sufficient knowledge are 38 respondents (45%), and those with poor knowledge are 8 respondents (9%). The conclusion of this study is the majority of students knowledge level about self-medication of diarrhea medication falls into the good category.
