Abstrak
Infectious diseases are important for the public and government to pay attention to because of the many cases found. Treatment for bacterial infections is usually prescribed by doctors with antibiotics. 92% of Indonesian people do not use antibiotics appropriately. Widespread and inappropriate use of antibiotics is a major factor causing resistance. This study aims to determine the pattern of antibiotic prescribing at Madukismo Farma Pharmacy. The method used in this study is a descriptive observational method with retrospective data collection in the period May-August 2024 at Madukismo Farma Pharmacy. The sampling technique used a saturated sampling technique with a total sample of 96 recipes. Data analysis by calculating percentages based on patient characteristics (age and gender) and antibiotic prescribing patterns (name and class of antibiotics). The results of the study showed that the characteristics of patients based on age were mostly in the adult category aged 19-59 years at 48.96%, and the most common gender was female patients at 56.25%. The name of the most frequently prescribed antibiotic at Madukismo Farma Pharmacy in the period May-August was Amoxicillin from the Penicillin group (58.33%).
