Katuk leaves contain chemical compounds such as alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, triterpenoids, polyphenols, steroids, quinones, monoterpenoids and sesquiterpenoids. Factors that influence the yield and chemical content of katuk leaf extract are differences in the type of solvent. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of the type of extraction solvent on the yield value and chemical content of katuk leaf extract. The extraction method used in this research was maceration, using 96% ethanol and n-hexane as solvents. Simplicia powder is macerated with each solvent (ratio 1:3) for 3 x 24 hours with stirring 15 minutes every 24 hours. The maceration results obtained were then filtered and air dried until a thick extract was obtained, then the yield value and chemical content of the katuk leaf extract were tested. Data from the results were analyzed using SPSS with the Shapiro Wilk normality test and Levene's homogeneity test with a confidence level of 95%. The yield value data was then subjected to an Independent Sample T-test to determine the influence between groups of solvent types. |
