Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar levels beyond normal limits. The highest prevalence of diabetes mellitus in DIY is in Yogyakarta City at 4,9%, besides that diabetes mellitus is also the second most common disease in Medikatama Pharmacy. This Study aimed to determine the prescribing pattern and dosage appropriateness of oral antidiabetic drugs at Medikatama Pharmacy Yogyakarta from October-December 2023. The study used an analytical observational method with retrospective data collection on prescriptions for BPJS patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Sampling used the purposive sampling technique on 100 BPJS patient prescriptions. Data analysis was carried out descriptively regarding patient characteristics (age and gender), prescribing patterns (type of therapy, type of oral antidiabetic, and drug class), and dose appropriateness based on PERKENI 2021. The results of this study indicate that diabetes mellitus is mostly suffered by women (55%) and aged >65 (50%). This study concludes of this study is that the most widely used for oral antidiabetic drugs is glimepiride + metformin (31%), and the most common drug class is sulfonylurea + biguanid group (35%). Dose suitability based on PERKENI 2021 was 94%. |
