Pengaruh Penyuluhan Terhadap Tingkat Pengetahuan Ibu Tentang Beyond Use Date Obat Di Dusun Kembang Tempel Sleman Yogyakarta Pada Bulan Februari 2025

The expiration date of a drug after opening is called Beyond Use Date (BUD). BUD is the time limit for using a drug after it is mixed or prepared or after the primary packaging is opened or damaged. Previous research shows that there are still some respondents who do not understand the management of BUD regarding the difference between the terms expiration and beyond use date (60.0%), BUD of ointment/paste/cream preparations (58.18%), BUD of powdered drug preparations (53.63%) and BUD of dry syrup drug preparations (64.50%). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of counseling on the level of knowledge of mothers in Dusun Kembang Tempel Sleman Yogyakarta about the Beyond Use Date (BUD) of drugs. The research method that I did was experimental with one-group pretest-test post-test design. The sample used in this study used a saturated sampling technique with a sample size of 33. Data analysis used in this study was Shapiro-Wilk to test its normality, and hypothesis testing used the non-parametric Wilcoxon test. The results of the pretest knowledge level with a good category of 5 respondents (15%), sufficient 20 respondents (61%), lacking 8 respondents (24%), and the posttest category of good 22 respondents (67%), sufficient 10 respondents (30%), lacking 1 respondent (3%). The hypothesis using the Wilcoxon non-parametric test got a result of 0.000, so the sig value 0.05 indicates that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows that counseling with the lecture method can improve respondents' knowledge.
